Sponsored by AIC, Tech Biz Maine is a private initiative focused on helping Maine-based
technology companies acquire research & development funding from the Maine Technology Institute's Business Innovation
Program and the Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR) programs.
The initiative places special emphasis on recruiting, and working with, Maine
technology entrepreneurs interested in using R&D dollars to develop innovative, market-driven product solutions in the
Environmental Technology, Medical
Device Technology and Information Technology Security
industries.

Goals
- Help Maine-based seed, start-up and early-stage
companies acquire state and federal R&D funding to develop innovative technology products.
- Help Maine-based seed, start-up and early-stage companies build internal operating
structures that will enable them to grow with the development of innovative technology products.
- Help Maine-based seed, start-up and early-stage companies develop competitive strategies
that lead to the launching and selling of innovative technology products.

Assistance
Under the Tech Biz Maine initiative, AIC
helps Maine-based companies prepare and submit both Maine Technology Institute Business Innovation Program funding grant proposals
and Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) agency funding proposals. A modest service fee is included in providing
the assistance.

AIC is publishing and offering free publications designed to help Maine-based companies better understand the federal R&D
programs and how to position their companies to actully acquire funding.
